5 Stars good for days when you have no energy, but you still want to do something.
when i purchased this dvd, i wasn’t sure what it would be like…the reviews were hit-or-miss…this only made me more curious about the product…well, i tried it and i like it. it has become a regular part of my lifestyle…it is easy to follow, it isn’t really difficult, but it does provide me with a sense of accomplishment (especially on those days when i don’t have a whole lot of energy but I still want to do something). suzanne deason is a wonderful instructor. she tries to make yoga accessible and enjoyable so that you want to keep doing it. i always feel balanced after doing this dvd.
2 Stars Before you start…
I haven’t actually been able to do this workout yet–not because I haven’t wanted to because I have, but because YOU NEED TO HAVE YOGA BLOCKS TO DO IT. I don’t have those yoga blocks, so now I have to go pay more $$ for equipment. It doesn’t say anywhere on the DVD that you need any equipment. It’s really, really annoying because you should know what you need before you wake up at 5:30 AM and pop the DVD in thinking you’ll get a workout first thing.
2 Stars Very slow movement and lots of talking…
I just reviewed this program and I had difficulty following along. This is because the the program is so slow and the narrator has such a calming voice that I kept yawning. There is narration throughout the entire program, had the narration stopped, I may have had a minute to calm my mind as the program encourages. This is a relaxing program, almost too relaxing.
The other distraction in this program is the use of bricks, blankets and a chair. The narration focuses a lot of time on these accessories. It would’ve been nice to have the narration give directions for people who choose to follow along without the accessories.
The overall program devotes a lot of time to holding certain positions and the narration talks through each interval of a position which could be annoying at times. The pace of the programs are a little too slow. Suzanne’s look could also be a distraction for some people. I’m still looking for a program that offers more varieties of positions.
1 Star Yoga for who???
I’m overweight, so I bought yoga for weightloss. Well, right at the beginning of the workout the instructor, who is not overweight, launches into several positions that I cannot do BECAUSE I AM OVERWEIGHT. I would have to be at close to a normal weight to fit myself into the positions she does.
What’s the point? I thought this might actually have positions I could do. I ejected the disc five minutes into it and added it to my coaster collection.
Thanks for nothing.
Quick Fix Post Natal Workout

The first of its kind of busy new mothers. These micro workouts will help you regain your pre-pregnancy fitness level, while easing the tension of your day to day mental, physical and emotional changes. Nancy Popp, “Quick Fix” veteran, experienced mother and fitness expert, will help you get back into shape.
Each segment will focus on key areas of your body that have changed during pregnancy. In the first 10 minute workout, you will use 2 fluid filled bottles or light hand weights for resistance to tone and tighten your arms and back. Grab a chair for the second workout and get ready to regain the strength in your lower body. In the final segment you will use floor techniques to build up your muscles in the abdomen and lower back regions.
As with all of our “Quick Fix” Series, you can do one, two or all three of the workouts, and time is never a problem!

4 Stars Great tune-up when your motivation has died…
I found this DVD great after having my daughter. That was the OLD me who did more exercise than I do now! I run decluttering and time management workshops for a living (inspiredhoney.com) and so I like to have a break once in a while give my mind a tune-up (like my car). But having a DVD like this makes it easier to give my ole body a tune-up too! Worth having when it’s raining and cold and the motivation for exercise has died.
5 Stars Excellent!
I really enjoyed this postnatal workout DVD. I really like everything I’ve tried in the QuickFix series, so I was really excited about trying this one and was definitely not disappointed. Nancy Popp is an approachable instructor who gives clear instructions; the workouts are therefore easy to follow and she offers modifications at all times. The 10-minute format is of course wonderful, and the props required are reasonable (a mat and a strap). Overall, another great offering from the QuickFix series!
5 Stars This is a great post natal workout
This is a great post natal workout for someone who is out of shape. I was on bed rest for the final 5 months of my pregnancy, so I was seriously out of shape. This workout is not too hard for those of us who had complicated pregnancies, and it really works what you need worked after having a baby. I also had a C-section, and it’s not too much stress on that area that can be extremely sensitive. Despite being gentle on you, you will still work up a sweat, and the stomach workout is great!
4 Stars Post natal workout
Not annoying and just tough enough to keep me going but not discourage me. I like that it is broken up in segments so that I can tend to the toddler when he needs it (and he needs it often!) I didn’t see fast results because I got pregnant two months after purchasing.
5 Stars Great DVD
I love this workout program. The workouts are targeted and short and help get results even if you have a very demanding infant!

2 Stars Not my cup of tea
I love the other Gaiam programs and products. I bought this set thinking that it would be a fast paced home session that might actually burn a calorie or two. Wrong! The DVDs are actually AM/PM yoga for Weight loss and Yoga Conditioning for Weight loss, with a total running time of about twenty minutes each.
The AM/ PM disks are very slow. If I was to actually use them in the AM/ PM I might have fallen asleep. The Conditioning program has multiple instructors to fallow, each demonstrating your fitness level with slightly to completely modified poses. The modifications are very easy. Beginners probably will be capable of doing the full pose with only slight modification to a few. If you have health problems some of the modifications may work for you but they didn’t help me.
I did appreciate that Gaiam used real women in the DVD. This also points out that yoga alone will never get you looking like Suzie what’s her name. The set is a good place to start if you are just becoming active however, if you have done any yoga before… get a different tape.
If you’d like to purchase the set mine’s on eBay!
1 Star great beginner’s practices, BUT WATCH OUT FOR MARKETING PLOY
this is basically a package consisting of two suzanne deason dvds, Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss and AM PM Yoga for Weight Loss, spread across three dvds. the yoga practices are very fine work, worth four or five stars individually, but i have cut this down to one star because the repackaging may cause people to think the Quick Start and Maintenance dvds are new and different than the AM/PM dvd. also, at this writing, the package costs more than the individual dvds. shame on you, gaiam!
Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss is a popular gentle beginners’ practice, about 45 minutes in length, demonstrating four different levels of practice from beginner to most advanced. It presents a balanced practice of standing poses, backbends, core work, forward bends and twists. suzanne deason’s AM PM Yoga for Weight Loss is also a fine dvd, providing a similar kind of practice, in shorter, more focused versions. there is a morning and evening practice and bonus workout, each simple and short (more or less 25 min. each) and well cued, with modifications for beginners in the morning and evening segments. the morning practice focuses on standing poses and backbends. The evening practice focuses on shoulder opening and forward bends. The bonus breathwork workout is more advanced and does not present modifications. it focuses on integrating breath and movement in more challenging standing poses, backbends, and core work.
two dvds included here present the same workouts as the AM/PM dvd. Quick Start Yoga for Weight Loss is the AM portion of the original dvd, and Maintenance Yoga for Weight Loss is the PM portion of the original, plus the dvd’s bonus workout on cd. if you want all of these suzanne deason practices on dvd, you can just buy Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss and AM PM Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss separately. you will end up with two dvds including all the practices contained here on three dvds and one cd, for less money.

3 Stars Not enough core strength
I used to really enjoy pilates but a couple of years ago I had a c-section, followed about 3 months later with an upper abdominal surgery, where they had to make about a six inch incision into my upper stomach.
At this point, I would call myself an advanced beginner, but I just cannot do many of the excercises in this video and there are no modifications. I bought this to work on my core muscles and am highly dissapointed that I can’t use it.
I didn’t give this one star because even though I can’t do it, it is obviously a good workout, the instructor isn’t annoying and the setting is wonderful.
2 Stars Boring
I like better Winsor pilates… I gave this one away, but the good thing is Pilates work!
5 Stars Good Choice
I like Ana as an instructor and this is a 2nd DVD that I have. The instruction and pace was very good for me as I am still a relative beginner to Pilates, though I am improving now. Ana provides great instruction throughout this DVD and I enjoy working out with this.
1 Star Not worth your money
I bought this along with many other dvds for excercise. I am not overweight, just out of shape after last baby. I had no problem doing this work out. It was so lame. The moves were not explained (although I was familiar with them). Ordering their weight loss plan/dvd etc…was the main focus. The work out was not worth it, and since I didn’t need or want their diet, it was not worth it. There are many better pilates dvds out there, and for much less. Save your money on this one. A total waste of time. There are several other starter dvds pilates, yoga I ordered and bought that I had to struggle through because of lack of muscle tone. This was no problem and I didn’t feel anything.
3 Stars Basically the same exercises as another DVD I am using
This DVD is probably OK, but decided to use another one I purchased instead. The background music is somewhat annoying at 5:15 am when we exercise.
